BCS School of dental assisting prepares students for entry level positions as a chairside assistant in a dental office. The dental assistant training program is a course designed to teach the students the skills and knowledge necessary to assist dentists and hygienists in all chairside procedures.

Students that graduate from this program will be able to effectively perform the following procedures:
  •  Pass instruments and supplies to the dentists.
  • Use suction devices to keep patient’s mouth clear and dry.
  • Prepare materials.
  •  Set-up and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  •  Remove sutures.
  • Prepare dental charts.
  • Apply topical anesthetics.
  •  Apply bleaching agents and fissure sealants.
  •  Remove stained and soft deposits from the clinical crown of a tooth.
  • Selection and placement of matrix bands during amalgam and composite resin restoration.
  • Placement of dental dams.
  • Fluoride placements.

  •  Take impressions of patient’s teeth.
